Hi, I’m Jacqueline!

I’m a marketer by day, baker by night (and weekends). I work full time in marketing consumer packaged goods, where I get to flex my creativity via product development. But I love coming home and whipping up a sweet treat and getting creative in the kitchen.

I grew up baking with my mom, from weeknight brownies to big birthday cakes and a huge assortment of Christmas cookies, she fostered by love of baking from a young age. On a recent Christmas, she indulged my desire to make all the different Christmas cookies that I wanted plus the ones my other family members love and we ended up baking all day Christmas Eve and made 6 different recipes! I’ve always loved Christmas cookie baking because there’s a captive audience- my family is always happy to take just one more cookie.

That’s not always the case in my own house- I bake just for myself and my husband, occasionally friends & colleagues. So sometimes there’s too many leftover baked goods because the recipes are too big for just 2 people. This dilemma led me to start adapting recipes to scale them down to a more manageable size. That meant dividing recipes by weird numbers to make them smaller and sometimes weighing out and dividing eggs which is a bit of a pain! So this led me to the world of small batch baking and into developing my own small recipes and Petite Batcherie was born!

I live in NYC with my husband on the Upper West Side.

All about the name Petite Batcherie

I wanted a unique name that highlights small batch baking in a fun way. And I’ve always loved French bakeries like Ladurée and French pastries like pain au chocolat. So I combined “Petite” meaning small, “Batch” for small batch and “erie” from patisserie French for bakery into Petite Batcherie.

The cupcake in the logo represents the kinds of small batch dessert recipes you can expect from Petite Batcherie.

Let’s bake!
